Short mission

New Sustainability Certifications

Company

Thevinyl is one of the leading manufacturers of PVC compounds in the Nordic region. They have an extensive standard range of compounds for all possible applications. With more than 50 years of experience and customers in several countries (mainly Sweden, Finland, the UK, and Denmark), they possess broad expertise and often tailor compounds according to customer specifications.

The development of processes and products is naturally carried out with consideration to environmental impact. A few years ago, Thevinyl launched a large development project related to materials, including exploring bio-based variants with the hope of further reducing the climate impact of the materials. The proportion of recycled plastic has also significantly increased in recent times.

Task

Thevinyl already holds several important sustainability certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 26000. Now, the newer certifications, Ecovadis and STBI, have come onto the company’s radar. The project involves investigating whether one or both of these certifications would be relevant to add, and what it would mean for Thevinyl. What added value do these certifications bring?
