Challenge and Case Night \u2013 Interdiciplinary learning and collaboration at its best<\/h2>\n

At Sustainalink we have a long and solid experience of runnint collaborative projects between university students and businesses in Sk\u00e5ne. We work with both Swedish and international students from all the universities in Sk\u00e5ne and from a wide range of academic backgrounds. From environmental scientists, biologists and civil engineers to economists, humanists and social scientists. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths as it makes it possible for our clients to receive qualified help through an impressive range of perspectives, approaches and methods.<\/p>\n

To further leverage this interdisciplinary expertise, we launched a new form of collaboration in 2022: Challenge<\/strong>. The following year, our first Case Night<\/strong> followed. The formats differ in scope and structure, but they share the same goal \u2013 to promote joint and interdisciplinary learning. In Challenges and Case Nights, we bring together university students from different universities and academic fields, who work in interdisciplinary groups on sustainability-related challenges from companies or other clients. They give participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge, broaden their perspectives and gain new insights into sustainability issues.<\/p>\n

The difference between Challenge and Case Night<\/h3>\n

A Challenge starts with a kick-off event where the students are introduced to their challenge. The groups then work independently for a two-week period and the Challenge then concludes with a presentation event where each group showcase their solutions. A Challenge is best suited for issues that require more in-depth study \u2013 for example, when students need time for site visits, interviews or literature studies.<\/p>\n

A Case Night holds a more compressed format where introduction, group work and final presentation take place during the same evening. This is perfect when you as a client want to get quick input and creative brainstorming from students with different skills and fresh perspectives from the latest research. In addition, both Case Nights and Challenges are optimal opportunities to showcase your business to ambitious students - perhaps your future employees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Who can join?<\/h3>\n

The same applies here as for Sustainalink's other project forms. We collaborate with companies, non-profits and other organisations in Sk\u00e5ne that want to gain fresh perspectives on their sustainability work. Students from all universities in Sk\u00e5ne are welcome. Good to know is that our Challenges and Case Nights are held in English, but perfect pronunciation is no requirement and we help each other out when needed. We want to encourage as many people as possible to join!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Experiences from previous Challenges and Case Nights<\/h3>\n

Case owners who have participated in earlier events have expressed that they have gained increased insight into their businesses and have been impressed by the students' abilities to achieve a lot within a short time frame. The students have appreciated the collaboration with students from other fields, the opportunity to learn from people with different backgrounds, and the chance to apply their knowledge in practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
