Electrification of the Vehicle Fleet \u2013 Future Outlook<\/h1>\n

Eurolink is a Swedish transport and logistics company with its head office and terminal in Ljungbyhed. The company has been operating since 2006 and offers a wide range of transport and logistics services both nationally and internationally, primarily in the German market. Distribution is carried out using both in-house resources and partnerships with external partners. Eurolink also has the expertise to handle the transport of dangerous goods, and for customers requiring fast deliveries, the company offers express solutions both within Sweden and across Europe.<\/p>\n

The logistics center in Ljungbyhed, with a total area of approximately 60,000 m\u00b2, of which 6,000 m\u00b2 is warehouse space, enables cross-docking, short-term storage, and hub functions for the company\u2019s freight network. Temporary storage and repackaging of goods are also offered here according to customer needs.<\/p>\n

The company operates a modern fleet of around 100 vehicles and trailers in various configurations. Its operations are characterized by flexible, customer-adapted transport solutions, short lead times, and high delivery reliability.<\/p>\n

Since 2022, the company has been owned by NTEX, one of Scandinavia\u2019s largest privately owned freight forwarding companies, with a turnover exceeding SEK 3.8 billion.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The transport sector is undergoing major changes toward sustainability and electrification. An increasing number of companies are planning to replace diesel-powered vehicles with electric vehicles in order to reduce carbon emissions and environmental impact. This transition brings both technical and organizational challenges, such as planning charging infrastructure, vehicle scheduling, and capacity issues.<\/p>\n

The aim of the project is to conduct an external analysis of the electrification of heavy-duty trucks. The focus is on highlighting which trends, regulations, and policy instruments promote or hinder electrification, as well as identifying the operational and logistical issues that need to be addressed as more electric vehicles are introduced. Are electric trucks the most sustainable and efficient solution, or are there alternative technologies\u2014such as hydrogen or biogas\u2014that should also be considered?<\/p>\n

The expected outcome is to provide concrete recommendations for how Eurolink should plan its operations, charging strategies, and future investments in an electrified vehicle fleet.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
