Local Food and Regional Distribution Systems<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Client<\/h2>\n

Sustainable Development Sk\u00e5ne is a non-profit regional collaboration organization that works to promote ecological, social, and economic sustainability in the Sk\u00e5ne region of Sweden. Its work is carried out through projects, networks, and partnerships involving more than 80 member organizations. The organization focuses on bringing stakeholders together, driving joint initiatives, and developing practical solutions in areas such as sustainable food systems, circular resource flows, social sustainability, and public procurement.<\/p>\n

Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
H\u00e5llbar Utveckling Sk\u00e5ne works together with several partners in the project Nya Matv\u00e4gar (New Food Pathways). The project explores how locally produced food can play a larger role in regional food systems by developing distribution models that better connect producers, distributors, public kitchens, and other actors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Task<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
A central challenge is that local food production is often fragmented, seasonal, and difficult to coordinate with existing procurement and distribution systems. At the same time, the ability to increase the share of locally produced food depends not only on production and logistics, but also on demand patterns, procurement practices, collaboration between actors, and the willingness of different stakeholders to adapt established ways of working.<\/p>\n
